RME’s Fireface UFX II incorporates premium AD/DA converters, optimized analog I/O circuits, as well as improved SNR and THD values to guarantee pristine, crystal clear and transparent audio. Further, with support for USB 2 connectivity, the new Fireface UFX II can integrate with RME’s optional ARC USB remote controller. Equally impressive is the unit’s channel count: 12 analog, 16 ADAT, and 2 AES for 30 channels input and 30 channels output. Analog, ADAT, AES, SPDIF, and USB 2 are all standard on the Fireface UFX II. The Fireface UFX II offers excellent flexibility that enables the interface to fit seamlessly into a myriad of production environments. With capacity for 60 audio channels (30 input and 30 output), support for sampling frequencies upward of 192 kHz, and the flexibility provided by USB connectivity, the new Fireface UFX II is an ideal solution to a wide range of recording, mixing, and monitoring applications.

Good luck all. With exceptional flexibility and compatibility, the inclusion of DURec (Direct USB Recording), and RME’s famous low latency hardware and driver designs, the Fireface UFX II delivers a rich feature set that will appeal to users in both high-end home studios and commercial audio production facilities. Especially when we all know that those power supply costs a couple of box to broduce.

But when you pay more than 2k it would be nice they would offer a replacement card for way less money knowing that is their fault. Don't get me wrong, I love my UFX more then my FW800 and more than a lot of sound card on the market. They all will eventually break! I've talk to a former representative in canada and he told me that RME knows about this but they just pretend they don't. Its a shame that RME won't recognize they have a design problem with their power supply. They sale the unit for about 150 dollars on rme site wich is way less than a new car. So I placed that PS in my UFX and BINGO! I think that in most of cases you see everything moving on your UFX but no sound out, try the power supply. Fortunatly I also have a rme firewire 800 wich I changed the power suplly a couple years ago. I've tried the middle ribbon connector at the center with no result. I've messaged RME customer service, but they are quite reluctant to give me that information. Is there a way to get the specs of those capacitors (C16, C17, C19, 20)? Either way, I want to get the capacitors and take it to a friend who can solder it for me. It feels to me like they are simply not telling the truth. However, the local supplier's lab said they need to replace "several pcb boards", and it should cost me around $400. (On the NT-RME-4 / ON-TEK OT-040F PSU modules.)I'm having the same issue (UFX, no sound in any of the outputs, meters lighting up just fine on the TotalMix mixer as well as on the device's screen itself), and I suspect the capacitors. I usually inspect/replace the pairs C19 + C20 and C16 + C17 which very often does the trick if the unit is dead or misbehaving. In other cases, it was the power supply with Capacitor C16 overheating. In one case, it was the ribbon cable in the middle of the unit that had come loose. Old thread maybe, but I've encountered this one a couple of times now. And totalmix is showing that there is output (see attachment). the same problem: No signal out of the mains and Phone outputs while i've changed nothing. Suprisingly everything was working again at my place too. They couldn't find anything and everything was working fine.

They took over the control of my computer but eventually the RME employee couldn't help me and recommended to send the unit back to the supplier. While all the meters were showing output nothing actually came out of the mains and phones. One day the unit's audio outputs stopped working. I have a problem with my RME Fireface UFX.
